Pakistan becomes a centre of biomechanics facility after being accredited by ICC. This idea turned into a reality after a time of 10 years.
There were previously 4 such centres for ICC in Chennai, Loughborough, Pretoria and Brisbane. With this one, the number of such centres becomes five.
It was planned back in 2008 by was delayed due to financial issues and change in board administration. It was continued again in 2013 but it got delayed again.
In 2016, the PCB, partnered with Lahore University of Management Sciences [LUMS] to allow them use the equipment which was bought in 2008 by PCB.
This equipment that consists of high-speed cameras and markers. Pakistani bowlers such as Shoaib Akhtar, Shabbir Ahmed, Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Hafeez had been reported in the past.
This project will help PCB to check the bowling actions of international as well as domestic bowlers and can prove a very effective tool in the betterment of cricket standards in the country.
