Today, Muhammad Amir has taken retirement from the red-ball format. But he'll be playing T20 and ODI cricket.
Amir coming into the scene in 2009 World Cup took the world by storm. He then made his Test debut in the same year vs Sri Lanka.
Amir had to miss out on any form of cricket for 5 years when he was banned for spot-fixing in 2010 in England. It was as painful for him as well as for fans who wanted him to shine more and more like he was.
Amir made his comeback to international cricket in 2016 and soon after that he was bowling the last batsman of England at Lord's in an amazing victory.
He is one of those bowlers, like Malinga, who decided to bid good bye to Test Cricket at a young age. At the moment he's just 27 but the 5-year break, the decrease in pace and swing led to his decision of retiring from the red-ball format.
He played 36 Tests and has 119 wickets at the average of 30.48.
Amir explains his retirement in this video:
Best bowler in the world. love u m.amir
