The first edition was entirely held in UAE, so did the 2nd season barring the final of the tournament. The 3rd one saw knockout matches being played in Pakistan and the fourth one, this year, had more matches played in Pakistan.
The recent season saw international players like Watson coming to Pakistan. This will surely help rebuilding international cricket in Pakistan. The PM of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has decided that the entire season of PSL 5 will be played in Pakistan.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been always considered a bowling competition with scores of 200 being only breached a few times. Apart from that many bowlers are to look forward to to entertain.
Here are the few top performers of Pakistan Super League:
1- Kamran Akmal
Kamran Akmal has been an integral part of the men in yellow franchise, Peshawar Zalmi. The Zalmi depend well on the explosive wicketkeeper-opener to provide a good start with the bat. And he has been doing that for a long time.
He has scored 1286 runs and is the leading run-scorer of PSL. In this big number, he has 9 fifties and 2 hundreds. He was also the first centurion of the PSL, hitting a hundred vs Karachi in 2017.
2- Wahab Riaz
When you talk about wickets in PSL, the name that pops into your head is Wahab Riaz. He's the leading wicket-taker of PSL by a fine margin, Hasan Ali is the 2nd highest with 14 wickets less than him.
Wahab has played the key role in death bowling for Peshawar Zalmi. He has a total of 65 wickets in the PSL. He provides a spell of fierce death bowling, with fast yorkers and also checks batsmen with his short ball stuff a lot.
3- Shane Watson
The Aussie all-rounder Shane Watson has been smashing them to all parks in PSL. He played for two franchises, Quetta and Islamabad. He agreed to come to Pakistan in the 4th edition of PSL and was a part of the team that won the PSL4, Quetta Gladiators.
He's the second highest run-scorer of the PSL with 1114 runs in 9 less innings than Kamran Akmal. He played a major role for Quetta Gladiators in PSL4 to help them reach the finals once again. He has the highest score of 91*.
Apart from his heroics with the bat, he also has 23 wickets to his name. He also bowled the last over against Pollard and Sammy to help his team win in a match in PSL4, before which he hadn't bowled a ball in a very long time.
