Glamorgan's signed player, Shaun Marsh, got injured facing Pat Cummins in the nets during the World Cup 2019. And he is not yet recovered from that.
For his replacement, Glamorgan has signed Pakistan opener, Fakhar Zaman, for the first 8 matches hoping that Shaun Marsh will return for the last 6 matches of their campaign.
Fakhar Zaman isn't having a good ODI run but he can be explosive up the order in T20s. Before that Pakistan no. 1 T20 batsman, Babar Azam, Muhammad Amir and all-rounder Faheem Ashraf also have signed up for this tournament for Somerset, Essex and Northamptonshire respectively.
Fakhar was leading run-scorer for Lahore Qalanders this year and can prove very explosive at the top of the order as he has been over the last two years.
Glamorgan's Director of Cricket, Mark Wallace, about Fakhar Zaman said: "He is a fantastic cricketer and one of the most destructive batsmen in the world who has a history of performing in big matches."
